Looks like you found a nice memory maker Matt!
Question, is the black band in the front decorative or functional? Looks like a different coating to protect from rock pings.

It's looking good so far! Great, in fact. Safe travels and have a fantastic time on your trip.

PS - I think you are a brave man to tow a trailer with a stick shift!

Why would a stick shift be a problem?
99% of the big rigs run them

I prefer towing with a stick. More efficient and no transmission cooler required.

Matt, I really like the clean look of no heater or propane fridge. This gives you the logo on the street sided. That doesn't look like the factory ice box though. Is that a 12 VDC compressor fridge?

Are you planning to put the back on the gaucho, so you can have an upper bunk?

Well, I learned to drive with a stick shift and drove manual transmission cars for a lot of years, but I can't say I ever enjoyed the process. I remember some tense moments when I got stopped at traffic lights on steep hills or similar situations. Sure didn't like havng to deal with a clutch, a brake and a gas peddle all at once and still manage to not kill the engine and/or roll back into the car behind me. For me, it would be even more hairy if I was also towing a trailer. I guess you guys who tow with a manual transmission are just better at it than I would ever be!

Made it it San Diego with only a front tire blow out. A Manuel trans is the way to go. As long as you know what your doing. It pulls like a dream. I am getting about 11L/100km which is pretty good seeing as my TV normally gets 7-9L/100km normally. I am planing on putting the goncho back in just did not have time . We only saw one other trillium on the road and one boler the trip so far .

It was a great trip!! Man I love this trailer. Only issue was at the last camp site with ants. The wife left some crumbs on the counter. The awning went up like a dream. No pulling problems at all. It follows and pulls like a dream, you never even realize it is even there. 5000km!! Bearings were ice cold!!
