Hi, I am Rodney from FL

Greetings,

I have been looking at your forum for some time and finally decided to join. I am not new to camping but considering a fiberglass camper in the future. I join as a posting member to learn from others and to also share my knowledge as a camper.

Welcome to the World of Glass!

Welcome to the forums, Rodney. Lots of knowledgeable people on this site. What style of camping have you been doing?
You can't go wrong with a fiberglass trailer that will last you for years.

Hi Barb,

I grew up with boating and tent camping then about twelve years ago I rented a motorhome in New Zealand for the summer. Fantastic Experience. I went everywhere in that thing.

I came home and was ready to buy a Winnebago View. (I liked the B van I rented but wanted a bit more space). The prices were, to me, astronomical for a sideline activity. I looked at used ones, rentals, that were just trashed and they wanted over half of their original MSRP- too much. I was disappointed. Then, a year later I went to the Tampa RV Supershow, a really large RV show in Florida. I discovered Airstream. I visited the dealer 140 miles away three times looking at new ones and finally ended up buying a used one in 2012. I have been working on it mostly (just updating and upgrading) and have taken a few trips but really enjoy it. I have been toying with the idea of looking at other options too. I like the Olivers and see the benefit to fiberglass. So, there is my story. I am currently an Airstreamer but things can change!

Rodney, welcome to the FGRV forum family. A new upstart fiberglass trailer called the Nest Caravan was quickly purchased by Airstream and they claim to be selling by 2018 (I think). Oliver is a very nice trailer, and larger than the Nest.
