Welcome to FGRV Ericka!

You definitely will find alot of helpful info here for all things fiberglass RV.

Concerning the 1500 to 2000 lb weight you mentioned, I would highly recommend you check out the numbers in the thread "Trailer Weights In The Real World", found here:

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=43010

That'll give you a good idea of the kind of trailer that meets those numbers.

Happy hunting.

Welcome!

Ignore manufacturers' dry weights and sellers' claims. If you check out the Trailer Weights link you'll see 1500-2000 pounds means a 13' trailer (total length- the cabin is 10', so they're really small). There are lots of choices, new and vintage. They range from very basic to full-featured (you can even have a full wet bath) and from projects needing a complete rebuild to like-new.

They're pretty popular right now, so finding a used one in good condition at a reasonable price will take some searching, followed by quick action. Scams abound on Craigslist, so be very cautious if it seems like an unusually good deal. The classifieds here and on www.fiberglass-RV-4sale.com are a good start.

We have a 13' Scamp for our family of 4. It's snug but workable for sleeping, and surprisingly roomy when the beds are converted to seating.

Best wishes in your "egg hunt"!

Welcome to the gang Ericka, Hope you search is a short one so you can enjoy the up-coming season.
Be sure to see if you can join us for the Spring Fling Rally in New England, next May in New Hampshire. See "upcoming Rallies Forum".
This will be our 2nd year rally and if anything like last year will be a blast.
See you on the roads

Hi, Ericka! I suggest that you go looking at trailers at a rally near you (see the rally section --- think you have probbaly missed them this year in your region). When you decide exactly what trailer you want, then find a tow vehicle for it (not likely that the vehicle you have will work). That is the way it often goes. You can save yourself time and money by figuring out the trailer first after seeing a few, and then see what you need from there.
