Hi Tom,
We have been camping with a small (no kitchen etc.) Rockwood Tent Camper for the last 20 years, and have been pulling it with several small vehicles. Our current TV is a 2007 Subaru Outback. It has max towing capacity of 2700 lbs. and hitch
weight of 200 lbs. So in looking for a new camper,
weight was probably one of my most important concerns. Quick set up during rainy weather was the main reason for the change. We started looking a couple years ago when we saw a
Casita while camping at Ft. Steven in Oregon. Then we thought that the Chalet solution would work, but most all of those were too heavy and still not as waterproof as we wanted. I did not check out many of the
fiberglass campers, but thought that the Scamps were well made, and not as expensive as some that I saw. I visit Wisconsin at least once a year and going to Backus fit into my travel plans. Good luck in your search.
