Held the shakedown cruise last Fri/Sat/Sun at a very uncrowded county park about 30 miles from home. 'Twas wonderful! Made a list of what we forgot (and, more importantly, what we failed to forget.) It rained buckets on Saturday afternoon, and we discovered that two people & two 60# dogs can survive comfortably in a 13' Scamp during a downpour. I didn't set up the EZ-Up 'cause it was windy and I didn't have any weights for the canopy. They went on the "what we forgot" list. So did more bourbon. Gotta practice backing up, but I found that a few loud F-bombs (in a nearly deserted campground) more than compensate for skill.

my eyes are leaking. Great first campground report. One some of us can really relate to.... hahahahaha. F-bombs indeed.

So, did you also forget the camera?

Glad you're enjoying the camping experience! (at least I think you're enjoying it?) Keep on camping and pretty soon you'll have the perfect list of not too much and nuthin forgotten.

Thanks Pam & Donna - truly enjoying the Scamp! Evenings by the campfire and foggy autumn mornings are wonderful!

Rick, glad you enjoyed your outing. Somehow I knew you would. Hearing about the evenings and such makes me want to get back there.(Not really, I like Florida to much) Keep enjoying your rig. I know I do.

Con grats on your new egg. So what did you forget to bring 2-3 bottles of bourbon. I keep a few in the cabinet. just in case.
I've got to enjoy watching some of the good shows of owners with huge trailers backing and moving them around.. then just whip my 16 Scamp right in. Where I did stay had a lot of trees, had to move every 28 days.

Congrats on the new egg. Better to sit it out in a 13' Scamp then a wet tent. I have one of the huge trailers now but it sitting on it's little lot in Montana. When we lived in Wisconsin we were camping by the Green Bay and in comes this honking big 5th wheel with multiple slides. Wife jumps out with the walkie talkie and guides this thing in. I have found out after that this not unusual.

I have walkie talkies ( a collection of five of them now ), but don't use them.
I'd rather have a guide properly instructed in hand signals. No fumbling with the radio or misunderstood oral instructions.
