Whatever trailer you choose remember to make it your own, glamping style, and show us photos. We LOVE photos! Note: These photos are from our tour of Utah National Parks. I like to decorate our trailer according to our destination. It doesn't cost much and adds so much joy!

That's a cool idea. Glamping according to one's
destination. Kinda like a costume party.....lol

RE: Bob Miller

1. What will you be towing with?

Toyota Tacoma ,3500# rating. Would like to keep trailer light weight around 2000#

2. How much repair/restoration work can you do, if any?

I built our teardrop from the ground up and remodeled our house. Currently work in heavy truck maintenance and repair ( access to lots of neat fastners ,adhesives and materials!) So I'm good with repairs.

3. How far are you willing to travel to buy

Depends on the time of year and price. Right now I don't like the 5 miles to work, but when the grass starts turning green I'll start thinking that I can do 700 mile days again.

4. What is your approximate buidget?

If we can't find a used unit we like, we will order new. Just HATE to write that check

We aren't in a great big hurry at this time ( already spent most of the winter in the cold) We would like to mosey around warmer climes (Snomad ? ) and look for a nice spot to winter.

RE: MC1

That looks like the Shasta we had!

Thanks for all the replies!

It sound to me, with those parameters, that you can pretty much have your pick of the litter, up to most 17'ers.

Just a tip, as the snow melts more units become available, but prices also start going up fast. As we speak we are just coming off the bottom of the price curve and, by June, asking prices for some units will be twice what they were this month.

And here in SoCal it goes CRAZY by July for last minute buyers wanting turn-key units.

Good luck in your search.

Bottom bunk obviously has no weight limit and people weighing in at about 130lbs have used the top bunk on mine a number of times without problem - but I have an extra support post on mine for those occasions.

Well we found one! After much shopping around we found a 1979 16' Scamp 10 minutes frome our house. Deal took about 1/2 hour from first seeing listing to handshake. Musta' been pre-destined from the beginning of time ( it's my story) Now the fun begins, updating to LED running lights, new axle and much TBD.
