hehe I can totally relate. I was frantic wanting one! Nothing fell into place. I'd find what I wanted, and they didn't make an off road version, found another one and the owner quit making them, found another and I couldn't get an flight to get there, found another and the owner was selling the company. I finally started resorting to teardrops! Then I stepped away from it for a bit (I was so burned out from wanting and not finding), and all of a sudden, my trailer found me! I wish you the same good fortune!

Oh my, congratulations! Good for you!! Can you restrain yourself from sleeping in it tonight in your driveway?

Your moniker 'lisantica' seems so familiar to me for some reason, and I'm trying to recall where I've heard it before. Hmmm...... are you by chance a flashaholic? I go by 'Rexlion' on cpf.

I've never towed a travel trailer before but for some reason, I think my Sprinter was more stable with that little Scamp on the back. Of course, I slowed down a lot as it was my first time towing it.

Scamps and cassitas tow really well my 17 FT CASITA Pulls great no tow bars or anything/If you really are serious fiberglass is the way to go,dont be afraid to buy used people generally take good care of these and even the ones that dont do pretty well because of the way they are constructed they dont fall apart like other rvs do when out in the elements!

I started a new thread asking about parts for fixing it, but thought I might post the question here as well:
Some things that it needs are:

Water storage tank. It is not there and I don't know what it should look like. It is one of those pump faucets.

Covering for outside outlets, see photos:



Frame for escape hatch:


Would these be parts I would buy direct?

Also, I noticed some of my knobs are round, some square, is that common? Just curious mostly.

$5800 asked, $4000 paid... you are a good negotiator! Thanks for posting that info, because asking prices are soooo high on used ones and it's helpful for potential buyers to see a genuine selling price for a change.

I'm going to say that round and square knob mixtures would not be factory original. As for the parts you need, others will know more but I think Scamp should have most of them.

By the way, you have answered your question about how to know which trailer to buy. Answer: buy the first one you can find, provided the price and condition are agreeable!

Any sagging carpet issues can be handled witha large syringe and rubber cement! Good pick&bartering!

If I don't get any leads on parts this weekend, I'll call Scamp on Monday and order them.

I think the person selling may have had some lookers and not buyers, so we agreed that $4k would be agreeable to us both.

I do have some sagging carpet issues..but the prior owner did a quick fix, not sure it will last, seems a bit loose to me. Thank you for the tip!

Yep, in fact this is the first trailer I ever looked at and 2 days later I went back and bought it.
Chased down a 17' Casita, he didn't have the title.
Chased down a different Scamp, price wasn't something I could afford.

Went back to the first trailer I ever stepped in. Thankfully, I think the wait helped the price go down, so that was a bonus especially since I have to put a little money into it.
