I'm Steve. Any interior height lists avaialble? Possibly buying.

Hi All,

I just started looking at the 13 foot "egg" campers and was wondering if there is a consolidated list somewhere of interior (standing area) heights for them? I looked at a 1976 13' Scamp over the weekend (wow, there was a lot of demand for that one and it sold within hours) but, at 6'1", I didn't think that I'd enjoy not being able to stand up straight when I wanted. I read that Scamp increased their 13' interior height from 6'1" (most people seem to say theirs is 6'0", not 6'1") to 6'3" from 2007, on.

Does anyone know of a list of interior heights for the 13' campers? It would sure simplify my search!

Is a U-Haul or Burro out of the question (less than 6'2" inside)?

Steve

Steve, 2006 and newer scamp 13's should have the taller ceiling. I have a 2013 13 foot scamp and i am 6'0" I have no problem standing up, but i do have to be slightly careful with the rooftop a/c unit as it comes down an extra 2" or so and although i don't really hit my head on it, i do rub on it and that is not the most pleasant. I would say it only really happens when standing in front of the sink and stove.

Thanks, Dave. The newer Scamp will probably work for me then.

Anyone know the interior height of U-Haul and/or Burro?

I did find this thread: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ear-36840.html

It seems that the Burro will work! 74" inside height.

Trailer height

Better look at bed length also, I am 6,5' and the Scamp was too cramped, I ended up with a Burro 17 with a huge bed. The Escapes have some nice models you should take a look.

Although longer (17'), the Eggcamper and the Li'l Snoozy each have the height you need plus a little more width (longer bed). They are not so plentiful on the used market, but once in a while.....

I have a 2015 Scamp 16 and I am 6'2". The interior height is around 6' and I really don't have a problem with it. It is not that often I need to stand straight up. We do very little cooking inside and when you are moving or putting on clothes you really aren't at full height.
The width for the bed works fine at probably 74".
I hope this helps.

Bed length is probably more important for comfort. Especially in a 13' trailer, you often go just from position to position, and might find keeping your head down fine. In bed could well be different.

Thanks for all of the responses and tips, all.

I didn't even think of bed length. I'll have to look at that.
