In Between RV's

Hi, I am Jason. I just sold our fifth wheel and I am looking to go with something more compact and easier to tow. I look forward to picking up some ideas from everyone.

Jason, I assume you had a big fifth wheel and want something smaller. If you still want a fifth wheel both Scamp and Escape make small ones. Used Escape 5th wheels are rare but very nice. Scamp 5th wheels are more numerous and also nice.

We are like you in that we down sized, in our case from a motorhome. When we first did it we planned for it to be temporary. Now we're in year 6 and absolutely love our Scamp 16 and have come to recognize it's enough.

Scamp Lite Fifth Wheel RV Travel Trailers with Deluxe Interiors - 5th Wheel CAMPERS - Scamp Trailers Note the Scamp comes in multiple layouts in Standard and Deluxe form.

Escape 5.0

Our trailer is the more traditional variety, a 1991 Scamp 16, 22 years old. It's amazing how well fiberglass trailers stand up to the test of time. We spend 7.5 months a yeara in ours and are delighted with it.

Glad to answer more specific questions.

Hi Jason, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here!

There are lots of kind and helpful folks here on the forum and everyone is willing to share knowledge and information.

The Escape 5th wheel is on my "forever" list. There's going to be a new model out... word has it sometime next year. Just so you know...

Check out Bigfoot 5th wheels. Becoming very affordable; queen sized bed, big windows, lots of room, but, at 19 feet, still able to get into the tight campsites. Hard to beat the airy, open feel

Hi Jason, been there done that. I have camped for 20 years. Owned popups, Class C, travel trailers and fifth wheels. We finally decided to scale back last year. I sold a 35' three slide, my 2500 Chevrolet and haven't looked back. We now have the 19 Scamp 5er. Light weight and I pull it with a 2012 Colorado four door truck. Best thing is I can drive right through a McDonalds parking lot if I want to. Certainly had to scale back on the living quarters but we feel like were camping again. Good luck and welcome to the forum.
