In search of...

I'm wanting a 13 ft Scamp, Casita, etc, to use as a mobile art studio. Sleeping and personal stuff, dogs, go in my Chevy Express van that I have set up with solar, frig, bed etc. So what I want is a good solid structure, no leaks, good floor, tires etc.,a power vent in the roof, and a propane stove, tanks on the tongue. Willing to travel. I'm in Virginia.

Welcome, Susan!

Most trailers that are solid and leak-free also have a full interior. Rotten floors caused by leaks are the usual reason someone would gut a trailer. Never know, though- you might happen across a half finished project.

Know that in most molded fiberglass trailers, at least some of the interior components are structural. Since there is no frame in walls or ceiling, cabinets serve to stiffen and support the shell. So you'll want to keep at least some of them in your studio.

Depending on your budget, you could take a look at the Happier Camper HC1. It is a new design with a completely modular interior.

Best wishes!

Molded fiberglass trailers are a bit different. Try to see the interiors of some at a rally, or visit a factory. There are about 10 manufacturers, who mostly sell factory direct. Manufacturers will provide names of local owners willing to show you theirs. Some manufacturers in the Eastern US include Lil Snoozy, Parkliner, and Oliver, a high end product. Airstream is introducing two high end products aimed at this market. One is fiberglass, the other is aluminum. Enjoy.
