Hi, my name is Debs.

ISO 13' Casita, Boler, Scamp, Trillium, Escape, Meerkat, Burro, etc.........or similar. Within a 100 miles or so from Monticello, NY.

Light enough to be pulled with a 4 cylinder car.

Must have bed, stove, oven, fridge, bathroom, heat, shower & windows that open, as it will be my home for as many years as it needs to be.

For a single, disabled person on a fixed income as a last option for a place to live, for a few years, while on many waiting lists for an apartment.

Welcome Debs, just so you are aware 13’ trailers do not usually come with an oven as space is very limited.
If you are looking for a shower in a 13 it would most likely be a Scamp (older deluxe model or newer one as I think they only started adding showers in late 2000’s in the standard’s) or a Casita as most of the others did not come with them.
Have you been in a 13 with a bathroom, they do not have a separate sitting area unless you change the bed to a table every day.

Check what your tow vehicle towing rating is as wiith a bathroomcan easily be close to 2000lbs with your belongings in them.

It would help to give an idea of your budget.

Just so you know, most of these little 13' trailers don't have full bathrooms,
Most don't have ovens, but only cooktops. Few are all-season ready.

Lots of solutions out there, but finding the right one can be a real job.

I have seen with a bathroom & shower. Not saying there will be a ton of space, but it'll be a place to live for a few years until an apartment opens up.

Yes, they do exist with showers, but "most" of them don't have them. You can find all options if you keep looking.

I cannot imagine spending "years" in a 13' trailer in New York. Well, actually, I CAN imagine it. I think I'd look MUCH harder for a "room" somewhere with real plumbing and central heat.

With bathroom is likely to be too heavy for a newer 4 cylinder car but some can pull it.

You'd have to really set it up for a New York winter if you wanted to use that bathroom year round...and Bobbie Mayer is right, bathrooms do add weight.

Didn't realize that a bathroom adds a lot of weight. Thank you. I do need it though, as this will be my home, until.........and I have crohn's.


As far as rooms for rent, there is nothing that I can afford. My SSDI is VERY low. The waiting lists for apartments, hasn't moved in the 5 years I've been on them.

Need something, as my sis is selling the house & rent at apartments is usually more than my monthly income. This seems like the most affordable option. Hoping to be able to park it & not pull it any more than i have to.

Good luck to you. What you're looking for is out there; used trailers that don't need a lot of work, though, aren't the cheapest, generally. Trailers that are very cheap often need a lot of work.


Anyway, best luck, sorry to hear about your Crohn's; a relative had that, it can be rough.

My sis isn't selling the house for another year or two, so I have time to keep looking and/or find another option. Maybe the waiting lists for an apartment will even move, lol!!

Since it is going to be difficult to find a trailer light enough to tow with a 4 cylinder vehicle that has both a shower and oven, and since you don't expect to move it all that often, you might also look at larger trailers and rent a truck to move it. You might even find a larger trailer might be less expensive.

Agree with Jon that a larger trailer might be less expensive, the eggs in good shape can be pricier inch for inch.
