Just Bought Casita 17 Standard in Las Vegas

I bought a 2006 17' Standard (no bathroom) Casita in Las Vegas
I have not been able to find a good price to get it to Virginia Beach
Do you guys have any recommendations?

If I can't find a decent price to get it moved I may have to sell it.

I have seen travel trailers being moved 3 or 4 at a time down the road I just don't know who to call. Has anyone had there's moved by a multi-car car hauler?

What do you think is a fair price?

Thanks

$2 a one way mile +/- is a high ballpark. You should be able to do better than that. $1 a mile would be a very good deal. I've seen actual deals on uship that were under $1 a mile (like the one below).

Realize unless you make it a vacation, the cost to drive out there, pick it up and drive back home would exceed the shipping cost, by the time you include gas, hotels (at least one way, food, etc.

Interesting back and forth on this actual transaction on uship. Truckers wanted more, person did a fine job holding the line on their budget. Very good negotiating skills on this one.

Of course, trailer needs to be ready to go and towable. Good tire, lights work, etc. I would expect it to cost quite a bit more if it needs to be on a flat bed.

I bought a Mustang convertible from the same location years ago. It was shipped for $700. The Mustang weighed more and was probably similar in length.

I was hoping that it could be moved by a car hauler.

It is 2500 miles. I think that I may be selling a Casita if I can't get a car hauler to move it via uship for a reasonable price.

I think $700 shipping from Vegas is dreamland. I don’t see a Casita fitting very well on a car hauler, wide and high. But hey if someone can do it great.

I agree somewhat. The $700 was years ago. I don’t think the casita is any taller or wider then the larger sprinter vans.

I think that I will consign it with a dealer in Las Vegas. I would be happy with $9000 it’s been stored most of it life and everything works.

Good point on a Sprinter van. Only Sprinter van delivery trailer I have seen was single height, cuts capacity by more than half.

Maybe you can find someone with a ramp truck or whatever that has a car/truck on the ramp and then flat tows your trailer behind it.

Too bad that didn't work out. Hope you don't lose too much on the deal. FGRVs seem to sell quickly if rationally priced.

This situation is another GREAT example of why you should NEVER purchase a trailer far enough away from your personal location that will cause you not to go look at the trailer in person AND personally haul it home immediately after purchase.

Key will be finding consignment seller who understands molded FG, has good sales history and can handle local logistics for you.

I would expect to pay higher fees to get this.

I understand using dealer or agent if you aren't there.

Another idea might be to see if Oliver, Little Snoozy or a sticky maker near you delivers near Las Vegas [RV dealers?]. Your trailer load could avoid them having to return home empty. There are some logistics on both ends, but there could be savings.

Plan "C" Haul it to Quartzite, AZ and put your phone # in the window. Kidding, I think.

Know any super responsible college students? We used to shuttle Hertz Trucks around Western US for a few hundred $ after plane fare to Vegas. Blew the few hundred in Vegas. Oh well. You may have to provide tow vehicle.

FYI, Casita recently quoted me $1500 delivery from TX to Richmond VA on a new one. Call them, maybe they know some companies that could get it done for you.

Flights to Las Vegas are cheap enough.

I thought about storing until I can arrange transport. I have a ton of Hertz points and could rent a van or truck for a week.

$1500 from Texas to Richmond is a very good price.
