Just picked up a Cadet

Hello, I just picked up my first Fiberglass trailer and am excited to get it fixed up. My father has a Trilliam that he got years ago, I was originally looking for one of those but the cadet came up at a price I couldn't say no to.

It's a 1986 that's in ok condition, it needs a little work but I'm sure that I'll be able to find a lot of answers in these forums. I just picked it up a few hours ago and have already noticed that:
-The back window has a couple cracks at the top
-The bottom of the trailer has little parts that are worn from road debris
-the canvas needs replacing
-a couple cupboard handles are broke
-the key doesn't work
-most of the carpet on the inside has fallen down
And
-the roof doesn't seem to sit right at the front.

The thing I'm concerned about the most at the moment is the way the roof fits. It seems to be lifted up at the front but the latches are tight. I'm going to try and include a pic or two and hopefully get a chance to search the forums for a cause/solution tomorrow evening.

I look forward to reading the posts and learning how to make my trailer great again.

I just tried adding a pic but t asks for my ULR? Or something like that. How do I include pics? lol

Thanks

Welcome to the group! Cadets are one of my favorite brands.

Rather than try to describe issues, its best to post photos of the problem areas you are asking questions about. (yep, its true that a photo is worth 1000words).
The windows are pricey to buy, if you can even find them. Best of luck on the rehab!

To post pictures, click on Go Advanced and then the usual paper clip icon.
I look forward to seeing your Cadet. Sounds like a major project but Cadets are well worth it.

More

I'm glad that worked. Here are a few more. You can see how the roof is up a little more than it should be at the front. I'm going to see if I have time tomorrow night to investigate further.

Cleaning it out

I got out tonight to clean it up a little on the inside and was surprised to find that it wasn't all that bad. The canvas needs to be replaced and the carpet put back on the walls.

I pulled out what I thought was an awning and it turned out to be an add a room. I was excited until I unfolded it and found that mice have ruined it completely. I still have all the pole and the trailer skirt so maybe I can get a canvas shop to make me up a new one.
