Just picked up my first Trillium!

Hey all!

Proud owner of a new to me trillium trailer. It's pretty original but in what I would call excellent condition for its age. I purchased it from the Original owners and it was only up forsale for 8 hours before I was the first to see it. Original owner did a poor re caulk of the windows so I'll have to clean that up and give it a proper polish to bring it back to its former glory. Any other MUST do''s in these old units? I plan on repacking the bearings and repacking the bearings but otherwise nothing jumps out as a MUST do. Thanks

That is one sweet-looking trailer!

Bearings, tire dates/condition, lug nut torque, running lights working, brakes if equipped, coupler latch adjustment.

If you're going to use any propane appliances, a pressure drop test is a good overall test of the system. You can also test each appliance and smoke, CO, and LP detectors (you have them, right?) with fresh batteries as needed.

I consider four items to be necessary, eventually:
1 - Window reseal, (seems you are on this)
2 - Door reinstall. They start to sag.
3 - Belly band reseal. Hard to explain, but there are several threads on the subject.
4 - New axle. After 40 years, they do wear out.

Welcome to FGRV Steve, nice find. Jon and David hit the high points of what you ask. I'm sure you already know, butyl tape is what you use for sealing any threw hull items.....no sillycone .

Don't forget to check/renew the 6 bolts that hold the fiberglass
body of the trailer onto the steel frame. On my '78 they were
in very bad shape even though the trailer had spent its life in
Arizona. ENJOY!

Are you sure you bought it from the original owners? Two guys right? I believe this is the same one that was for sale a few weeks ago by a mutual friend's acquaintance and she wasn't the original owner. Sure looks like the same inside with the fabric, etc. She sold it to 2 fellows and they immediate put it up for sale again for more money ... if this is the same one the wood around the windows is rotten and caulking won't do the trick. I am going to double check with friend that lives there but I sure think this is the same one.

No matter after the work is done I sure you will get years of enjoyment out of it!

The title of the thread implies that there will be a second, (or more) Trillium in your life. I like the way you think.

One observation, your fridge does not look like it is sitting level to the floor. They do like to be level.
