Congrats on your new Scamp Bill and welcome to the fold. Are you coming in on 94 or 90? Say hello to Micah at the plant. I just purchased a different TV. 2012 Jeep GC , it took the dealer four hours to install brake control and 7 pin. Hope your summer go fast as I am sure your anxious!

I got an official OK from a Toyota rep visiting our local dealer. I would never try it with a 16’. The Scamp will be well below the 3500lbs.

I got the 2012 Rav4 V6 Tow pkg. I tow my 16' just fine. with most options, bath ,air, furnace, HWH. Should be fine if it is anywhere near as good as the older models are. Good luck, Carl

Key point Carl, V6 vs I4. Toyota doesn’t seem to want to bring back the V6
I hear the 2019 redesign will be made up like the new Camry. If in the future we upgrade to the 16’, I will use another TV. Your 2012 is the last year of the good ones that could do more.

The F-150 with the 2.7 is amazing! Can’t say enough good about it! Pulls the 25FB and truck full of stuff. I would like a little more power and may look at an F-250/350 but the problem is I love this truck so much!

I have a 2001 F150 Supercrew 4x4 with a V8 and wanted to trade it in on a F150 3.5 EB, but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ stopped me. EBs costs more than the V8!

True that Bill! I don’t know what trim level you’re after but the XLT is pretty well priced. Some folks I’ve talked to say that there are some dealerships in Texas who give DEEP discounts. I don’t know who they are though. I think if you look around a lot you may get a good price. Or you can try the 2016 or 2017 left over stock. Same truck with a six speed transmission instead of a ten speed.

tony I pulled a 32f 5th wheel with a dodge 3/4 ton with a 318 motor I never wanted any more motor than that. it was my first truck trailer set-up in 1976! get this I towed that and a 20f I/o boat chained together no brakes on the boat. I was very careful I pulled it 100m one way then 100m back in the lake of the Ozarks.

towing

my neighbor did it too! he had a heavier camper even! I did call the state patrol to make sure I was legal!

I don't know what the transmission was in that truck but I never took it out of o/d either!

Follow-up

After waiting forever for our 13’ Scamp, we cancelled and purchased a nuCamp teardrop. Couldn’t be happier. I need to be removed from this forum. In the end, this has worked out for us and much better than expected with a Boondock edition—-higher ground clearance.
