Mity Lite Spacemaster

We bought our Mity Lite a couple of months ago, and just returned from our first trip (Washington State to northern California).

It was a great trip, and we loved the trailer. It really is incredibly light; we towed it behind our Toyota Tacoma and it was so smooth. It's very well designed, and it was easy and comfortable for us and our dog for all three weeks of camping. Everywhere we went, people were curious and charmed by it- much as we still are.

Before taking off, we had it painted, put new canvas on it, and re-upholstered the inside. The outside was originally a faded brown, which instantly inspired the dueling nicknames of turd and tater. Although it's gotten a facelift, it's still sort of potato shaped, so for the moment we're sticking with tater as a name.

We are looking forward to traveling with it often, and hope that at some point on the road we'll meet another Mity Lite. It seems there aren't many out there.

Below are a few pictures: The day we bought it, The tarted up tater from the outside, and and inside shot of the tarted up tater. Enjoy!

Very nice! Whatever paint you used, it covered well. It's so low profile, I bet it hardly impacts your gas mileage.

Wow. I love it! Like Robin said, we're glad you joined here. I think Tater's the perfect name, too!

That really is cool! I've never seen one of those. What are its outside dimensions? And where did you find it?

Fiberglass RV - Miti-Lite Trailers

There is some info about them here........ A few years ago, there was like a 3 or 4 month period where 2 or 3 of them came up for sale. Their rare, but every once in awhile the pop up..... If I remember correctly of those that came up all at the same time that were sold or for sale, one was in Northern CA and one was in the Reno area.

Perfect name by the way............

Cool! Mike B was an owner and drove lots and lots of miles to make the purchase. Here's one of his posts (and it was painted brown!): http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ook-26203.html

GOOD FOR YOU!

And welcome to FiberglassRV Coralie & Lucas!

Thanks. We had it done at a body shop, so it's a pro job. Yeah, our gas milesage stayed pretty similar.

I'll have to measure it and get back to you- it's about 5x12ish. We found it on Craigslist, where magical things can be found! It was in Olympia, Washington, and now lives up in the San Juan Islands.

Thanks for the heads up. This is definitely where most of the info that we've found about other Mity Lites seems to be.
