I like the new color on the cupboard doors better too... and I just happen to like yellow, just not on those doors

I don't know what tires came with your trailer are but just a heads up that many of our trailers come with special trailer tires (marked on the sidewall as ST) and they are not rated for doing more than 65 mph.

Hope you make lots of great memories with your new trailer.
The tires aren't necessarily only rated for 65, but the RATING of the tire was done at 65mph.

Here's info from Maxxis:

Jared,
According to the Tire and Rim Association the inflation pressures and load specifications in general for any ST Radial trailer tires, regardless of the manufacturer, are designed and rated at 65 MPH. However, if the speed is higher than 65 MPH, the pressure and load need to be adjusted according to the following guidelines:
From 66 to 75 MPH – the tire inflation pressure needs to increase 10 PSI (not to exceed the maximum PSI the tire is rated for) but requires no load adjustment.
From 76 to 85 MPH – the tire inflation pressure needs to increase 10 PSI (not to exceed the maximum PSI the tire is rated for) and load should be reduced by 10%.
ST (Special Trailer) Radials are designed specifically for use on trailers. They have different construction features and materials that vary from Auto and/or Light Truck tires. There are no merits in using a Light Truck tire over an ST Radial if the intended use is for a trailer. Maxxis would not recommend any tire be used in any application it was not designed for.
Thanks for your inquiry and interest in Maxxis Tires.
Best Regards,
The Maxxis Support Team

Thanks Jared. The "rest of the story" is always welcome.

I just went out an copied all the information off my tires to see if there was a problem.

LOL

Jared,
Thanks for filling in the details. I read pretty much the same recommendations on the TireRack website. I must be getting old as I don't really like driving much above 65 even when I don't have anything in tow. As for getting down on my knees and adjusting my reading glasses so I can determine the maximum inflation pressure could be a problem. Maybe I can't get back up. Maybe I should take a sheet of paper and pencil and take a tracing???

Maybe you should just keep the speed down to around 65 and fahgeddabouddit! Jared won't get there any sooner than you will...

I'm the apparent idiot doing speed limit (70-75 depending on state) or 5mph over with the rest of traffic that causes everybody to freak out.

I asked Maxxis about running a commercial LT of theirs, due to the "speed limitation", and that's how that came about.

I have another 35 (probably 40, then) years until retirement, and I don't have time to waste, I want to get to the site.

I'm not saying that's right for anybody else, but I've had more weight in the bed than the scamp weighs, and I've had 11,000 lbs behind the vehicle down the highway before (bit of an oops, no idea it was that high until I scaled at the dump, over 16k with pickup and trailer ), and it handled it fine. Your mileage may vary, and your vehicle will spontaneously burst into flames if you go over 55...

Chandler has gone to a maple veneer plywood with a clear (water based??) polyurethane which really shows off the wood grain but does not turn it yellow. We were pleasantly surprised when we picked up ours and found the new finish. There are so many cabinets and we really didn't want to refinish all of them!

Both the cushions and curtains were from the standard factory palette. The cushions are Dupione Peridot and the curtains are Canvas Vellum. All fabrics are Sunbrella.

Now, that's the kind of detail that sets Parkliner above so many other trailermakers.
Talk about "fit and finish"!

Enjoy, Brian!

I guess it's kind of logical, too. The Sunbrella factory is located in NC only about 15 miles from the ParkLiner factory. The quality is fantastic and the person who sews them for PL does beautiful work the fit is so tight that none of the cushions every bounce out of place. Chandler will have them made of any material you want outside of the standard selections, you just have to purchase and ship him the requisite 25 -27 yards of fabric, (depending on the pattern.)

It's nice that the factory is local, but still- Sunbrella is a premium product for which there are many cheaper substitutes and Parkliner is to be congratulated for using it as their fabric of choice.

I don't know of any other fiberglass trailer maker that uses Sunbrella or a comparable material as a matter of course for their upholstery...I'm sure if I'm wrong I'll shortly be hearing about it!

If I'm going to go to the trouble of towing anything, it might as well have enough comforts to make the effort worthwhile.
