Toyota Hilux Galaxy 1993

I just purchased one of these great vehicles.
It's recently come from Japan with just 46,000 kms - such low mileage.
I'll post some interior pics soon.
Drives so well - like a car - no need to fear the dreaded camper diving into the corners.
And I went roaring through rivers in 4wd mode.
Can't wait to go camping!

Did you floor make creaking/crackling sounds when you walk on it? What's the solution?

VERY cool rig. Our first RV was a Toyota Dolphin and I still kinda miss it. You'll have a blast with this.

Well its been quite a project on our Galaxy. So far:
Found and repaired the Firestone Riderite air suspension - all wires to it were burnt, and there was a leak in the airhose. Now we can adjust the alignment when camping and raise it for river crossings etc.
Added another 100AH battery - but still the old 3-way fridge (only 12v working) wont run 24/7 off the 190watt solar panel system
Fixed leaking water tank - the sensors were all leaking - replaced worn silicon with rubber o-rings and nuts. But still water leaks onto the carpets - we think it may come from sloshing water back out the filler tube. Not sure how to fix that!
Just received a diesel air heater (POSSIBLE brand from China/Aliexpress) to replace the faulty LPG heating ( it was disconnected at importation before certification because of high CO2 output into cabin. Not sure how to fit the diesel attchment into the existing diesel tank
Gas water heater didnt work - keep 'flashing back' - took it to a gas fitter who put in the correct jet - now it works perfectly - heats the 6gallon tank in about 20mins.
Installed a new rear view camera with an HD screen ( can also plays HD videos on my rear view mirror !!)
Mishaps:
- Ripped the rear bumper off going over a large bump in a river bed. Silly and annoyed at myself. managed to path it back on with large washers, but will need some fibreglassing one day.
- Got stuck in a small river - had very soft stone bed and we just keep sinking in below the axles - luckily a kind farmer pulled us out with his tractor. No damage! We now know we need better equipment on board for getting unstuck if we really want to go offroading. Which we do because thats what New Zealand camping adventure is all about.
And so this camping has becoming quite a consuming project!

Need Input

I am looking at one of these at auction (that ends tomorrow). If you get this message can you give me more info?

~ Hows it running? Anythings to look out for?

~ What auction was yours bought at? I am looking at a Sapporo auction and am a bit fearful of the rust...

I am new to the forum just doing some research.

Any info will help! Also can you post some interior pics?

Greetings to all in this thread.

I have one of these for sale, click the link if you would like to view more details.

I can say it is different to the one posted by SimonSolar2C - it doesn't have air suspension etc, and has a different layout inside. It does have the 'clamshell' pop up which Simon's doesn't? There are other subtle differences.

These are rare, I can only find evidence of 5 others on the inter web despite many searches.

They are fantastic. Fibreglass any day.

As an experienced ebay seller, a word of advice: drop the reserve. Bidders do not like bidding on reserve auctions, many will just avoid it entirely.

Either just go with a Buy It Now listing, or start the auction at a figure you are comfortable with. So if your reserve is $19,000, just start at $19,000 with no reserve.

Way cool camper!

Thanks thrifty bill, as you can tell I'm no pro at this - will give it a go.
