New from s.w. Texas

Signed up yesterday, love the site, and all of the info. I went to Study Butte (pronounced Stoody Butte) today and on the way back I saw a Scamp 5er hooked to a white Toyota going south towards BBNP, welcome to the neighborhood and enjoy your visit.

Hi Donna, yes in the next four years, I have a son still in school so I'm not ready to hit the road yet. I do have a 31' 5er that we lived in when we came to Texas but I want to get a smaller trailer for the future.
Do you know of any couples Workamping in a small egg? I only ask because on another site someone asked about Workamping in a tent or truck camper and the answer was something like the campground usually likes big nice rigs for camphosts.

I can't help with the Workamping questions, but I know Gina has done it several times in different places in different states. And she had a 17' Burro. I know one couple that's looking to be Workampers and they have a Scamp 5th wheel. I'd think it would have more to do with the location. State Parks/National Parks etc. vs. Private Resorts. Heavy on the word "resorts." I've met plenty of camp hosts (not for pay Workampers) and have always met them someplace in the park... never inside their trailer/RV. Don't know what difference size would make... except at those "resorts." YMMV

Hi, Greg! I have family in Alpine. In fact, my avatar pic was made at Davis Mtns SP. Welcome to FiberglassRV.com!

Cool! A friend of mine once lived in the church in Terlingua, but that was 30 years ago, when not much else was inhabitable. Lots of changes since then (although admittedly I haven't been in Terlingua in several years).

You didn't by any chance know Nick Burke did you? Here's a pic of his campsite, from our cover photos album. The Ducati repair shop is just out of view, to the right of the camera. It's off 118, north of Study Butte, a couple or three miles.

Oop. Here's another pic from a different trip - he and his girlfriend used to make frequent trips out there. They had a nice spot.

Okay. Nick passed away a couple or 3 years ago; was one of the folks who helped get this web site started (and was a good friend). Lots of changes...

Hello, Horst - no, I don't know exactly where the photos were made. I know it was private property, a friend of a friend, that sort of thing.

Thanks for quick reply....it looked like a neat area to dry camp, but then there are many great boon docking sites in that area...again thanks Horst
