Welcome.
Lots of friendly people with Scamps here and tons of great info.
Will be interesting to see how you find camping in the egg compared to your Nomad trailer.

Welcome Kenneth! Did you get a 13 ft or 16 ft Scamp? What tow vehicle will you be using? Should be able to go a lot more places with your new combo, Congrats!

Welcome to the group Kevin! Scamps are almost as nice as Uhauls
(tongue in cheek comment of course no offense intended)

Cool

bet you stop using the big one for the most part. they are nice if your taking the whole family. but for ease of use and conveniance, you can't beat small campers

that being said , we are moving up from our little teardrop to a big scamp 13 for a little added comfort.

Kenneth, It would be interesting to hear how you are fitting into the smaller trailer.... such as what did you alway 'need to have' in the big one, that you find you don't really need in the smaller one? Did you downsize to the 13 footer, or the 16?

to pam

Long story. As you know we have camped for many years. The 30 ft is good if you are going up to 400 miles and stay a week or two. And we plan to keep it. Now why we baught a scamp. I have always wanted a small fiberglass camper. With gas prices as they are we baught now. We built a teardrop 8 ft. We found it to be not big enoughSo we built a modefied teardrop 12 ft..We live near atlanta ga. We had a trip planned to alaska and we pulled thise small camper for 12.000 miles and were gone for a month. We built camper in my shop we could only make it 60 in tall inside.any any taller it would not come out of the door. The small camper had water microwave.stove porta potty sofa made into bed at nite. We found that all the fancy conviences are nice but not nessary. We got by just fine without them and had a great trip. WE get 8 to 10 miles per gal. with a tundra towing the nomad.WE averageed 18 mpg. with a 05 tacoma.WE plan to go out west in summer for over a month. Thanks Kenneth
