Hello,

I'm just beginning my search for a used camper. I went with a friend of mine to Key West in his Casita and now I am hooked. I think I'd like a used Casita, but haven't seen any in my budget...around $6000 max. I am also open to a remodel project limited to interior renovation and minor systems stuff. I like the looks of the old Bolers, Burros, and Scamps. I also like the lines of the Uhaul, but that might be more than I want to tackle. I am open to suggestions and will be looking over the boards for posts on how to rebuild one. Thanks, Bill

Bill, did you see this one located in TN? Looks like a great trailer.

Bill, many of the used campers do not required large amounts of money or effort to make them campable. If you do your homework, you should be able to get a camper in your price range that does not require major refurbishing.
Best of luck on the search

Bill, I think you can find a good used camper for $6000. The prices in your area may be higher then where I am, but $5000 gets a good usable trailer in my neck of the woods.

okay, I have another question. Is there a network or list of camper owners that would be willing to look over a camper for sale as a third party set of eyes? I find lots of nice sounding campers several hundred miles away but it is hard to justify traveling several states away for an initial look. I am talking about an INFORMAL look using a set checklist and performed by an individual that lives in the area. What do you all think?

Bill, even if you find a trailer and can view it yourself... be sure to download, print and take this with you: Fiberglass RV - Document Center - Buyers Check List
