Hi Denis, and welcome to the site.

You will get lots of good help, from some really great people here. I would also suggest using some of the search features to look up specific topic you are interested in, there is a wealth of knowledge contained in threads past.

Welcome Denis to the FGRV forum family. What states are you interested in seeing? We live in Arizona near "Lost Dutchman State Park", Goldfield Ghost Town", and "Canyon Lake" at Tortilla Flats. Hiking, fishing, horseback riding, 4 wheeling, and plenty of sunshine with normal highs of 77 degrees F. and lows of 30's-40's.

Hi Denis welcome. I don't know how far south you were planning on but here in North West Florida and Southern Alabama there are many state and city parks plus COE parks. Almost all have fishing.

Keep in mind that the South rim of the Grand Canyon and much of that part of AZ are high country and will have freezing temps and lots of snow. You will seldom, if ever, find it warm up there between now and late April. The north rim is closed altogether until about June due to winter snow pack. Check with the National Park Service web sites for specific parks and conditions.

I'll second David's recommendations in Arizona. Arizona state parks are well-cared for and reasonably priced, especially if you forego hookups (they're usually the best sites anyway). Information here: Arizona State Parks: Find a Park

You may also want to look into Maricopa County parks: Parks & Recreation - Maricopa County

Reservations are advised in the winter, especially during spring training season (Feb-Apr).

If you're over 62 years old, then your best bet in National Parks. We head to SW in the winter. Death Valley, Lake Mead, Joshua Tree NP, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, just to name a few. With the Senior pass entry into the National Parks and National Monuments is free, and camping is 50%. Generally there's no hook ups, but toilets and water are available, showers can usually be found.

Last year were only out for 2 months and averaged less than $6.00 per night, the previous 4 years out longer and averaged between $7.00 and $8.00 per night for about 90 nights.

NPS/Interagency Senior Pass requirements include being 62 years old and being a U.S. citizen or a legal resident of the United States. Here's a link:
Interagency Senior Pass - Eleanor Roosevelt National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service)
