hi I am Matthew. I have a ruined 1995 24 ft Sportsmaster. Roof and floor leak and bulging with water damage. Gonna tear down to the frame and rebuild in fiberglass, maybe styrofoam/fg composite into a lightweight Tiny Home/RV.
Been reading up on R.Q. Riley since I was a teen, maybe use his method of laying up fg on urethane foam. Afraid of sun damage delaminating the fg from the foam.

Sounds like a project! This forum is all about all-MOLDED fiberglass (i.e., egg-type trailers like Scamp and Casita), so we're pretty specialized. You'll likely get more help with the kind of laminated construction you're describing in a general RV forum.

The issues you experienced are exactly what brought many of us to molded fiberglass. Bigfoot does make a larger 25' molded fiberglass model. It's set up for four-season living. Pricey new, but with patience I bet you could find a used one for less than the cost of completely rebuilding the one you've got. Just sayin'...

Best wishes, whatever you decide.

I know where you're coming from Matt and have done a few rebuilds myself but not with RV's. Looking back at them I kind of have to wonder what I was thinking. Probably being young and not seeing the big picture...who knows. The cost/return wasn't even close in the end. It was a great learning experience though even if sometimes it ended up in the dump. I'll be interested to see (pics) what you end up doing.
