New member needs some help with Trillium 4500

Hi there. I have a 15" Trillium 4500. We absolutely love our little camper and we are finally taking it on our first camping trip (out of the driveway) very soon. The fiberglass has yellowed and feels somewhat rough. I am told this is oxidation. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to bring it back to its former glory. Suggestions on waxing/polishing products would be very helpful. I would also like to know what caulking is best to use around the windows. I have a lot of other questions, but I will start with these. Thanks so much.

Hi Dena
Welcome to FG Trailers. as to cleaning I have a 75 Trillium (green) I used Vim household and bathroom cleaner on mine and rinsed well then I applied a product called Zep Wet Look Floor Finish, after the 1st coat it didn't look too bad but after the 3rd WHAT A SHINE. It goes on with a damp cloth and dries fast. I was really pleased with outcome.i wash and add a coat each spring and fall.

Hi Dena, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

Tom directed you to a great thread that gives suggestions for making your Trillium shine better than new!

Pictures? Do you have any pictures to share? We love pics!

Thanks everyone. Will post some pics soon. Our camper is from 1978. It's in good shape, but needs some TLC. I bought it 2 summers ago, and we are finally finding the time to get it out on the road.

I just read the thread that Tom directed me to. It was very helpful....thanks for that. I will have to see what products I can buy in St. John's, NL. I was also wondering if it is possible to get the blue striping and trillium 4500 decals anywhere. I think I would need to have this done before I put a finish on.

Hi Dena,

I'm supposed to be getting some from Tom at www.Trilliumrv.com. Waiting for a response to my email (Tom eventually responds). He is coming to bolerama in ON mid July and supposed to bring them with him.

You will have to let him know if you've got the single or double row of stripes. Mine has the single.

Dena, no one says they have to be blue. It's not like anyone who doesn't know about Trilliums is gonna say "Look Gladys, a Trillium 4500 with original color stripes and decals." This is an opportunity to make it your own. Maybe match the color of your tug?

About the closest font is Arial:

trillium

Any sign shop can help you with both. Otherwise, TrillumRV sells the decals in orange.

Dena

I used Poliglow on my 1972 Trillium. It put lots of life back on the finish, I ordered it out of Ontario, cost about $100. if I remember correctly. Google Poliglow, all the information is there.
