You are correct Donna, I ordered replacement weather seals for the windows also, and reinstall,, I like these windows the only problem I really see with crank outs is you have to be careful not to walk into them when they are cranked out. that hurts
Donna I have Jalousies windows with radius corners made by Hehr and sold by Scamp love the modern look with the crank open windows that can be opened in the rain if I want. I agree that walking into a open jalousie hurts but so worth it to be able to open then in the rain LOL

All I know is where I live where it rains (a LOT) and I can't leave my radius corner windows open without building a dam (or gutter) above. But, folks with Jalousies don't have that problem!
Sliders are probably simpler to manufacture. Mechanically simpler so less prone to failure in the field. Jalousies used to be common in houses, on sun porches and vacation cottages. Maybe the changing style in homes to slider windows helped shape the buyers expectations or desires.
I think the sticking out when open might also be part of it. That would hurt and people do walk around the camper a lot.
