Smile New member with a flat top 13' boler trailer

Hello, my name is Demetre, and my wife, Kyla and I, own an early boler trailer.

It is VIN # 163, has a flat top roof, the original gel coat finish, pressed plate door hinges, surface mount tail lights, no side marker lights, a front window cover, avocado green sink and range top, working original Dometic propane powered fridge, ensolite liner, original water tank, vent over the sink, and also has an add-a-room tent option, and the original orange cushions, and the furnace also works.
The interior DC lights are not currently working.

I believe it was manufactured in 1969, based on what I have read here, and other boler sites before registering.

It has been in storage for the last 10 or so years, and we are working on putting it back on the road for summer camping.

I will post some pics soon, as I am having trouble locating all of our photos after a computer melt down.

Glad to be a member here, and eager to learn more about boler trailers in the process.

Yes, it's quite cool to have around, and have had a lot of good times camping with it.

We were planning to cut an access hatch in the floor to use it for ice fishing this winter, but changed our minds after realizing what a gem we have, and in almost 100% original condition.

The add-a-room tent option has no floor, so we decided to use that as our fishing area. We can sit inside, playing cards while we fish, enjoying a wobbly pop or two, and keeping warm

There is a set of metal skis being made for it this week, that will bolt on to the axle to pull it out on the lake in January.

It is currently in a heated shop, and will take some pics of it this week end.

Made me look... I had to google "wobbly pop"… It sounded like something my daughters would look for in the candy aisle at the convenience store!

I do want to see the Boler on skis. Is that because there is a thick layer of snow on top of the ice? What do you pull it with on the lake- a snowmobile?

Rest of you... don't laugh- I'm from Arizona. I've never lived north of the 40th parallel, let alone the 49th!

Glen, thanks for the welcome.

Jon, yes there can be snow on the frozen lake, depends on the weather.
The skis just make it easier to pull, and will help distribute the weight better.

I will pull it with my pick up truck, and not quite sure yet if a snowmobile will do it.
Will find out in January.

Wobbly pop - adult candy maybe, made me laugh when I read it.

Nancy, I too am looking forward to seeing it on skis.
Should get a lot of looks by all the snowmobilers, and other ice fishers.

Will start a new thread about that once the I get the skis.

Hi Demetre; - Welcome to the FGRV site. I too am VERY interested in the concept of a 'Boler on Skis' for ice-fishing. Although in Canada, we live just a hair south of the 49th, at 48 07.089 in what we call 'central' Ontario. but, we certainly have many frozen lakes in our Algonquin area; as well as snowmobiles, ATV's and trucks out fishin' on the frozen H2O. Living right beside a 1 km. circular trout lake, I'd sure like to plan snow-skis for our 1973 Boler; with our 6X6 Polaris ATV as the TV. Please keep us posted, on this unique variety of boondocking.

I'll be waiting. Ice fishing as you can guess is big in MI also. I can picture the Boler already out there with all the shantys. Makes me smile!

Dave,
This will be interesting for sure. Sounds like you have a good fishing spot.

I can't wait for the ice to get thick enough to get out there.
