New Trillium Owners
We just scored a '73 Trillium in great shape. My grandparents had a Boler growing up and I wanted to start camping with our boys so the hunt was on.
I have driven by this couples house for 15 years admiring their trailer just sitting in the yard. It has not moved for 5 or 6 and I told my wife I was going to stop by one day and ask if it was for sale. She said "You say that every time we drive by here", which is about daily. Well yesterday I did and ended up backing it into my garage for a cool $2800.
I'm sure I will be picking your brains as I get it ready for camping season.

Good price! I am assuming that it is a 1300, or is it a 4500? Pictures?

Yes its a 1300, I have loads of questions.
I will take some pictures, spent the morning scrubbing off all the poplar tree droppings. Last sticker on the plate is 2004, but the owners intended on using it last year so they put 3 new tires on it and got it the back in tip top shape.
List of things I need to do:
- Remove from frame and sand blast and repaint the frame due to surface rust.
- Repair cracks in gel coat.
- Paint to match tow vechicle.
- Install elect brakes.

Congratulations on the score! I intend on getting mine off the frame but probably not until next camping season is over. I have to enjoy one year first!!
I just added electric brakes to mine. I have a thread in the brakes section. It's real easy!
I've heard the early Trill's had a structural issue on the frame. When you get the body off, I'm sure you will inspect e'er thing.

The interior is green, its not too hot so I am thinking of painting it as well. The Countryman is the intended tug but I just parked it in front of the trailer to size it up. I dragged it home with my truck.
Ordering the hitch for the Countryman soon.

I am so jealous of the green interior! So much retro awesomeness. I think there might be another green Trillium interior in the archives somewhere - I know I just saw a photo of one the other day.
Congrats on the trailer score - what a great find! I love Trilliums.

 to the forum. Sweet setup. I was looking at mini's as a tug not to long ago, daydreaming really. I read they require a unique factory hitch. I like the green interior, it's nearly a match for your mini's graphics. You could detail the exterior to blend it all together.
While net surfing I found this Mini airstream concept vehicle. Looks awesome. A total luxury but awesome

Yeah I saw that concept before it looks a little big for that Clubman. As for the hitch Mini in the UK sells them but there are a few US companies that make them rated for 3500 lbs, which is way more than the car could handle. I think it will be fine with brakes, the car weighs 3000lbs and has loads of power, I just don't like to have the controler mounted in the car.
We plan to paint it black and flow the checker graphics back through the trailer as well.

So I ended up buying a new Wrangler and figure better to tow the camper with it.
