I'm glad you found a decision you can live with. As for AC if I lived in Florida AC would be first thing on my list just to cut the humidity out.
Ithor way good for you I hope your choice works out well.

Hint: AC is pretty simple to install with Scamp "Prep" package. Just cut 14" hole in the roof and connect wires. RV Parts, RV Accessories RV Supplies Priced Low offers the same Brisk II AC for less than half of Scamp price.

I don't need AC because I mostly going to drive or hike at daytime and spend time in the trailer at nights only.

Not to be argumentative, but your link shows a Coleman Polar Cub at $649 plus $129 shipped to the midwest, that's $778.
My latest price list for Scamp (around June 2013) shows that same A/C unit installed as an option when ordering a new Scamp at $779.
That is not to say that everyone should choose A/C... but if you want it on your new Scamp...
One dollar for installation seems pretty reasonable.
While DuoTherm has long been offered at Scamp, they also use Coleman.
When I ordered my Scamp I specified the Coleman Mini-Mach which is no longer in production, but many recent Scamp Trailers have come with the Coleman Polar Cub mentioned above.
To be fair, the DuoTherm can often be found somewhat cheaper than the Coleman, but 1/2 that price would be a "real bargain".
The DuoTherm price on the link can only be displayed at checkout.

Great price!...(PPL has it for $479 before shipping)
$470 including shipping sounds like a good price, which makes your point pretty well.
That would leave $250 for installation, if only installation were as simple as you aver... that would be plenty high.
I still have more confidence in the Polar Cub.

Same price as the Cub when they have them.
Ohh! I forgot to mention that Scamp policy is to add up all options and discount them by 10%.
So ....$720 installed.

The information on ordering prepped for AC and price of different options is useful.

In the end it comes down to how much "value" an individual places on features or amenities to decide if they are worth the price to the purchaser. It has been said fairly often when discussing customizing that you need to do what works for you, not make choices simply to accommodate resale value.

I find it hard to sleep when it is hot or muggy, can get away here in Mich. using a fan most of the time but would value AC more than a shower. And I do tend to think about resale value more than some, but I'm not the one getting a cool new camper so it's sort of moot point.

Making sure the camper is prepped for AC preserves options for later while allowing purchaser to not spend money on a feature they don't personally value. Win win as they say.

Smile Have you looked at Weis Craft?

The Little Joe has twin beds but no toilet/shower.

The Ponderosa has toilet/shower but single bed.

Both are about 1500#.

Ponderosa Luxury Compact Travel Trailer for 2 - Weiscraft Trailers

Never saw one. All I know is what I read in the funny papers.

You are correct in the load rating:

Then they specify a WDH!!

Don't that beat all? I used to own a 1985 Grand Marquis. I was always afraid some airplane was going to try to land on that hood!

You would think that any chassis that could handle the torque of a 4.6 V8 could tow better than that. But we, as consumers, are subject to the mfr's specs.

Proper Tow Vehicles A Must!

I guess a lot of cars are victims of the CAFE standards. Government is so good to us and we are so tired of it all.

Fatal accidents cause a thorough investigation to kick in. Here is an example.
