ordered our new scamp

We ordered a 2013 16 ft scamp yeserday after reading about them on this forum and saw several people still using their after many years. I have been looking for about two years and me and the wife decided a scamp would be right for us. I am retired from the USAF and my wife Janie is a school teacher. We hope to see some of you this summer as we travel around using our Scamp.

How exciting. I remember the feeling well.
We got our new Scamp on December 15, 2005. Boy were we excited. Even today we get pretty excited about the next trip, which is about a month away.

I hope you get the kind of enjoyment out of your Scamp we've gotten out of ours.

very cool. if you don't have a prior commitment for new years and can get to backus to pick it up, what a great way to start a new year doing a little trip with your new scamp. that would be a new years to remember. you could be there to pick it up the morning of the 28th. the would give you time to get a lot of places that would be awsome to be at for new years eve. can't you just picture the two of you, and your new scamp? maybe a new years eve toast of champain at the st. louis arch?
or cross over to the upper penninsula of michigan for a marquette newyears? or new orleans? gosh, in a couple days travel from backus you can be in some memorable places, between there and your home. or take a couple weeks and go west first.
sure hope to meet you out on the road someday. have fun.

Welcome to the group! There are lots of wonderful State Parks in Kentucky to visit with your new Scamp. We try to visit at least one every year! Also, keep an eye out for the annual Indiana fish fry in May of each year. Good food and very nice people. This is usually the 2nd or 3rd weekend in May (Fri. - Sun.)

Things you might need

Congratulations on your new Scamp. When we picked up our 19', we were starting out on a trip. When we got to our first campstite, we had to come up with a fresh water hose, the dump station end for the sewer hose, a lock or at least a pin for securing the trailer hitch, and a lighter for the propane appliances. We were new to camping and thought the Scamp would be camping and towing ready when we picked it up.

Enjoy your trip,

David

Welcome to "the club"

Honestly, fiberglass folks are SO NICE - and a pleasure to camp with. Michele and I KNOW that you will have years and years of enjoyment from your new rig. Unless the Maya were right and the world ends 12/21/2012.

It better NOT end on 12/21/2012. That's our 49th anniversary.
