Painting the really thick ensolyte on my boler?

Hello!
I just purchased a 1979 13ft boler and I would like to paint the insulation white instead of the green that it is. I have read all the forums about the "elephant skin" and high density ensolyte but I wasn't sure if this applies to the really thick cushy insulation? Has anyone painted this kind and had it stand the test of time?

Thank you!

Hi wash it real good in TSP and rinse well,Let it dry and prime in KILZ they have several products to choose from then some paint, I use a lot of Cloverdale Architechural paint, has great adhesion, tough as nails and can be tinted to your color

We just painted our 1978 Boler ensolite. A tip is to fill all the "cuts" or "tears" with
just plain old white paintable caulking. We then put a coat of primer on the ensolite which really cleans it up and improves "cabin odor". Then we painted with latex satin finish light grey. Have to say that the ensolite "bubbles" may require a 2nd coat to catch all. We used a brush to cut in, a small size foam roller, and a small size roller that was "rough like rumpled cloth" that seemed to spread the paint better. Good quality paint spreads on the ensolite better so don't go cheap!!

I'm not 100% sure looking at the picture, but I don't think this is the regular ensolite used in bolers. I know that some of the 17's had a similar insulation. Looks more like something sprayed on. This appears to me to be much more bumpy than ensolite. May have to just test on an inconspicuous area first.
