Passing Through....

Hello! I registered here a few weeks ago, and I figured I'd better introduce myself properly. My name is Anne-Marie, and I'm the owner of a 1973 Hunter Compact II that is all original - for better or for worse However, it's for sale and I'm really a *gasp* "Canned Ham" camper enthusiast which is why I'm just passing through...

We live in NY and also have a second home in Tennessee, so we split our time between the two areas. Besides the Compact II we also have a 1968 Fleetwing Chickadee (14') camper that we are in the middle of doing a frame-off renovation
on. We've had it for about 10 years and have had many great adventures in it. I love my tiny camper and can't wait to see where it takes us next

I'll be listing the Hunter camper in the For Sale section tonight - hopefully it will find a home with one of the great members of this fantastic forum!

A little trading in the hot molded fiberglass market to help fund your canned ham restoration, eh? I feel so used... LOL

Seriously, most of us here love all kinds of vintage trailers, especially if they're small! At the least I think you owe us some pictures of your Chickadee!

I wouldn't buy one myself for exactly the reasons Zennifer describes, but I sure appreciate the ones I see in campgrounds a whole lot more than run-of-the mill modern stickies. Best wishes with your project, and your sale!

We also went from a vintage ham trailer to our Scamp 13, so I definitely see the appeal! I still like to read the forums and see the amazing things people are doing in the restoration area for those little trailers!

You listed a Trilium though? There's plenty of people looking for a Compact, you should be able to move it

Darn right, you should feel used

Honestly, my obsession with tiny trailers started with a sighting of a 13' Scamp at a campground, so I guess I'm almost allowed to be here, lol...

I get what you're saying about the leak issues with the canned hams - that's why we're in the middle of a total restoration right now... But I'm enjoying doing it, and it'll feel even more "mine" once it's done. The Compact is something we happened into, and after putting some time into cleaning it we decided it wasn't going to fit our needs. So, we're selling it to put the money back into our camper fund. Here is the only picture I could find of the Fleetwing right now - other than taking pictures of piles of metal and wood scattered around my yard

I haven't listed anything yet - never got around to it last night. I responded in a few "Wanted" ads, but I haven't actually posted my camper up in the for sale section. You know how it goes - Procrastinators of the world unite... Tomorrow...

Actually, my son just got a super-duper 3-D virtual reality thing for his computer, and we've all been playing it a lot. I'll get the post up today - at least I've finally got the pictures in my computer!

The "Anne-Marie" that posted the Trillium for sale was me! I WAS just passing through too, selling a trailer that had once been my Mom's and that I haven't used. But in getting it out, setting it up, cleaning and repairing a few minor items, it grew on me! And now I'm not selling....I have become addicted too and I guess you will see more of me around here.

Good luck with the sale of your Compact Anne-Marie.

I kind of thought so - I had seen your ad and the name caught my attention It's cool to see someone with the same spelling as me! Your Trillium is adorable, and I'm glad you're keeping it. Hopefully it will bring you great memories of your mom as you make new ones of your own
