Rookie getting a new scamp camper

I might be picking up my new camper on Tuesday . However, I am a first timer and I don't know much about scamp . I would get it from a seller out of Craigslist so I am afraid of getting screwed or something. What to look for on the scamp? Does it have a vin number like cars do? Any other things I should keep an eye on? Thank you,

Not sure exactly where on the Scamp but, yes there should be a VIN# stamped or on a label that matches the title. Check all appliances to insure they operate, look at tires for any visible cracks and ask how old they are, when was axle serviced as well as brakes, do you have a brake controller in your vehicle? Check lights and run water, basically everything inside should operate. Any smells indicating leaks, stains around inside of windows. I always note the seller's tag# in case I ever need to contact him again.

Jose, download and take the Buyer's Checklist with you. It will remind you of things to check. Not all trailers have all items though.

The VIN is found on the door side on top of the frame, about halfway to the coupler. Depending on how many layers of paint are on the frame, you may or may not be able to see it. Take paper and pencil and make a rubbing if necessary.
