RV Fiberfglass Newbee

I have a Fiberglass RV that was made in MN in the late 80's. In many ways it still looks current and I am updating allot.

We were lucky and found our NORCOLD fridge from 1988 was on a recall list and getting a brand new one for FREE. We have to pay for installation but that is it.

Anyone heard of of company called Mobile Technologes or something like that?

I like your camper, there is one that looks very similar in body style in our town just not as cosmetically nice as yours but I don't know if it is by the same manufacturer or not. I have often thought about inquiring as if it might be for sale but doesn't appear to have been moved in years...

Kirk welcome! Man I'm impressed with the work that you have done, it looks great. I also like the exterior. I am envious of your skills. There are many terrific men and women on here that I'm sure will offer great suggestions and share their knowledgable experience. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The exterior looks surprisingly good for its age. Interior wood still looks decent, too. What company made that body?

Awnings: There was a recent discussion about ways to use a tarp as an awning, and alternatives. Here's a link: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...eas-69068.html
Another nice tarp awning thread: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ing-63715.html
Here's an older thread: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ing-45351.html

Inverters: what 120V AC stuff do you want to run on the inverter? Or are you talking about a replacement converter to change shore power to 12V?

Generators: by all means, if you do buy a generator, make sure it's a quiet one. The Honda inverter genny (2000i and 3000i) and the Yamaha are well respected brands with low decibel ratings. Champion also makes a quiet inverter genny that's less money. If you want to run your air conditioner or an electric heater off the grid, you'll need a generator. However, for almost anything else you could do fine with a solar panel & controller to charge your battery, and an inverter for the occasional small appliance.

Almost Done

I will post some pictures. Used the RV for 4 days in Tomahawk WI for the Fall ride. Trailer with Harley on back in the North Woods of WI. No issues so it was great.

Still like to find some information about the MFG if I can find anyone who knows anything about it.
