The return of the Shunpiker!

There are lots of stories on how someone got their Trillium or Scamp or Boler by buying one they found sitting under a tree unused. But I found mine sitting under my own tree!
Long story, but my 1977 1300 Trillium had been sitting there for about 6 years after my Mom gave it to me when she bought herself a 4500 Trillium. My husband and I are long time motorcyclists and the trailer didn't really fit into our style of travel. Plus, our lives were pretty full with a complete reno of our 1926 school house and lots of other hobbies.
So, just a few weeks ago, I pulled it out with the plan of selling it. I washed it, scrubbed and vaccuumed the inside and listed it for sale, here and locally. One couple even came and looked at it. But, somewhere in there, the trailer grew on me....and I decided to keep it! We are also seakayakers, fishers and bicyclists and I think we will use it for those kinds of trips.
Plus, it was my Mom's. She...Noreen Bradshaw....was a very active member of this forum and went to lots of the Ont and MI egg rallies. In fact, the last thing on her bucket list, just before she passed away last summer, was to make it to one more rally. We got her to the Eggfest in Coburg Ont last May to spend time in her trailer and see her FG trailer friends one last time.
THe Trillium is in very good condition in spite of my neglect but I have a few things to do. New tires and propane tank first and check the bearings. Both faucetts need replacing and I'm going to replace some water and gas lines. The frame and shell are in great condition and the whole thing is very clean. I've been reading and reading all the info here to educate myself before I do anything else.
I have resurrected the name my Mom gave her trailer back to this one.....THE SHUNPIKER!

Yeah, a truly heartwarming story and a wonderful way to carry on your mother's legacy. Here's wishing you as much fun with your egg as Noreen obviously had.

I'm happy to say that I had the pleasure of meeting your mom at the Michigan rally a couple of years ago. Good for you keeping the legacy going. Happy travels.

I like the name, Anne-Marie. Do I take it your mother preferred the roads less traveled?

Glad Shunpiker is getting the love it deserves!

Maybe we'll meet each other at the MI rally sometime too! I would really like to see others trailers and how they have outfitted them. The Algonac rally is pretty close for me to go to.

Absolutely! She rode her motorcycle across Canada too, to visit family and friends in BC and to many states as well.
