Vent to nowhere

Just got a Trillium 4500 and I'm wondering what the Dometic louvered vent just behind the right side wheel well is for. The fiberglass behind it is not cut out.

A second question while I'm at it. Anyone have any suggestions about receivers on the latch side of the door that could support some of the weight of the door to give the hinges a little respite during travel.

Could it be prep for a furnace you didn't order? Something else, not ordered?

dometic is quite likely a fridge vent... fridge vents tend to be rectangular, and white, with thin louvers across the whole width, while heater vents tend to be smaller and have 2 round openings.

It is the vent for a furnace. They used a different style in the older trailers. Just do an image search on google for Trillium 4500 furnace and you will find pictures of it. Some of the articles that the images come from are in this forum. But it can be difficult to get to the results by using this forums search feature.

Here is one link to a google image search showing the vent to get you started. Sorry about the long length of the link but it will get you there.

Bob, this is the kind of question that can receive many answers but without a pic of the vent for us to go by..........pretty much guesses. It's happened in the past and none of our answers were correct after we saw a pic .
BTW, welcome to FGRV.

Photos do help, which is why I used the posters description of the location of the vent they were inquiring about as its being just behind the right wheel well and then did an image search of the Trillium 4500 trailers to see what purpose for a vent was in that location.

I would guess that furnace was an upgrade option installed at time of purchase Not at all unusual to see this being done with cars coming out of the factory having dealer installed options at the time of purchase. The Campster I own did not have a furnace but they were available as an upgrade so some Campster do have them.
