Wink We asked for your help....

So... it was a couple of weeks ago that we had narrowed down our choices to the vintage Airstream, the Scamp fifth wheel and the Escape 5.0 or TA. Having family history with the vintage Airstream, sadly when we went to see one, I realized that it had been more of a look backward than a future we wanted to pursue. We asked for your opinions and received lots of answers--invites to come see your rigs.

It was on to Scamp Camp 2015 where Stretcher (Dave) and Rosemary welcomed us into their lovely Scamp fifth wheel and took us over to let us see other models. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed and even found Scamp enthusiasts living less than 10 miles from us.

Still, we knew that we were at least 3-4 years out from a purchase and we were narrowing the field so that when the right one came up, we would be ready.

Then last week happened and we are STILL spinning! We go to see an Escape thanks to two more members--Dick and Joanne going way out of their way to show us their rig....and realize-while beautiful, it is really not our vehicle...but OH My Stretcher has put his rig up for sale and she has taken our hearts!

Three years melted into a week and now we are the very proud new owners of "Lucy," a fabulous 2011 Scamp fifth wheel. Stay tuned for mods and adventures!

Thanks Everyone!

Sally and Kyle

I saw Dave's 5th wheel at the rally and they came to our place in FL to tell us they were selling their 5th wheel. Happy for you.

So what is Dave going to do now?

Edit; Jim answered my question before I could submit it.

Congratulations!
I am partial to the Scamp 5th wheel. I researched the camper options for about a couple of years, and then (exactly) two years ago I was lucky to find one. We both like it a lot.

Glad it worked out so well for you and you were able to jump on the deal! Even better that you were already familiar with it.
Now it's time to go make memories!

Congratulations. I had a chance to tour a Scamp 19 last year. That's a very nice trailer. Once you've "made it yours" we'll want to see pictures. Raz

Good for you I learned many years ago, it's less about the brand of trailer than the memories you make along the way. I hope you make a ton of good ones!

Welcome to the Scamp world. Put some pics up of your travels and the changes you make as you personalize your 5er. Hope we cross paths in the future.

It's been a hectic two weeks!

When we arrived a Scamp Camp, we had no idea that we would be leaving our Scamp in Florida. We had seen an Escape 5.0 at the FG rally in Copake about a year and a half ago and really liked it, but hadn't thought too seriously about getting one. The new TAs have nearly a year waiting list and are made a long ride from Massachusetts.

After showing Sally our Scamp 19 on Saturday, I saw an ad for 2014 Escape 5.0TA in Boca Raton. It was actually in Melbourne, where we met Bob on Monday, saw his trailer, and agreed to buy it. We had to scramble a bit to get the funds from MA to FL, but completed the purchase on Friday. We now owned two FG 5th wheels and were a long way from home.

Happily the next day, Saturday, Sally called to say she and Kyle wanted to buy the Scamp. Now we had to get the title from our fire-safe in MA and the key was here with us. In spite of bad weather, FedEx was able to get the key to MA and the title to FL in time to take one last drive with the Scamp to Ft. Myers and complete the sale to Sally and Kyle on Friday.

We're now in a hotel in Melbourne and hope to have a 5th wheel hitch installed in our Frontier on Monday so we can resume camping at Myakka River State Park on Tuesday in our new Escape. It was a whirlwind two weeks that ended up with two sets of happy FG owners.
