1972 Trail Mite - Newbie in Michigan
Just bought a trail mite who I've named Mitten Mitsie. I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm starting to suspect that I bought a major project... though I'm excited to make it my own. I'm south of Detroit and love camping with my 2 kids all over the state. I'm excited to see where this adventure is going to take us!!
You can see my updates (as I do them) on Insta @h.westphal

Hello, I am FranRam
I have been on the forum since 2017 but never posted here just on the Casita forum. I am in search of a Bigfoot 17.5G.....traveling in a 2017 Independence Dlx which i enjoy but drove 3 hours to see and older G model. i am ready to start my search. Any owners of the G model ...please tell me what you like and dont like about it. The only thing i saw on the 07 model i looked at was how the awning arms restriced use of opening compartment doors unless awning is deployed....

Hello
We just purchased a 1999 Casita Spirit Deluxe. It needs some TLC but come spring we hope to see some of you at rallies and on the road!

Cell booster mount
Hello!
I just purchased a 16' 2016 Scamp camper and was hoping to install a cell phone booster. I'm hoping to take it boondocking, but stay connected. I bought a Weboost Drive Rv, I'm hoping to get some advise from this forum. Should I mount it on the roof or mount it on the rear bumper with an antenna pole? Any Help would be appreciated!

I'm not sure of your mount but I have ham radio and am/fm antennas mounted on the back of the awning. (also a quick mount for my wind sock) I also have a pole mount on the rear receiver "hitch" but do not leave it in place. The pictured bracket is a piece from Menards.

New to forum, thanks for the welcome!
We purchased a 2018 , 13 ft Scamp in perfect condition a month ago. It does not have an awning and would like to get one. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to do this?

Call the factory and find out if they reinforced roof area for the awning...in all scamps when mold was being made...

It requires special brackets to fit the rounded shell. You can probably obtain the brackets from Scamp, or they can direct you to their supplier.
Other than that, installation is straightforward. No special reinforcement is required, but you’ll want a fender washer on the inside to distribute the stress. Use stainless steel bolts and seal well.
For a small trailer like the Scamp I personally like the Shady Boy awning. It’s a smaller, lighter, cheaper, and more wind-resistant alternative to crank-out case awnings. I believe they can supply the necessary brackets.
If you do go with a factory-style case awning, I’m a fan of Carefree of Colorado for a good product and great customer service. We have a Carefree on our Class B. I believe Scamp supplies a Fiamma awning, which is also a good choice.

Time to get back in the game.
Just turned 66 years old. Have owned my 2021 Casita Freedom Deluxe 17' travel trailer, for 16 months. I ❤ it! Feel it's time to attend a Fiberglass Rally.
I live in the South. Therefore, my Casita travels the South.

Hi my name is Vanessa,
I am from Johnstown Pennsylvania and I live with my husband and our two cats. At this time we are staying at a all year around campground until we can clean up our credit well enough to either buy or rent a house. During my free time I enjoy knitting and crocheting and playing video games on my phone.

Best thing is to find the thread for the particular rally in the “Rallies” section of the forum. It will generally tell you when the spots are filled, and people will also post cancellations so you can jump on the internet and reserve the site.
If you can’t find it that way, there’s also a map and a calendar of all rallies in the “More” tab at the top right of the screen. Locate the rally you’re interested in and there should be a link to the rally thread and/or alternate contact information for the event coordinator.
Best wishes!
