Hooray- welcome to the club!

And now... please allow me to be the first to offer completely unsolicited advice!

You probably already know that your tug's hitch is too high- that combined with whatever rack that somebody's added to the back of the trailer is a recipe for sway, especially with the short wheelbase tow vehicle I see in the pic.

A drawbar with a few inches of drop should level her out, but you'll definiteley need to watch the weight on the rear- remember to shoot for 10-15% of trailer weight on the tongue.

Happy Scamping!

Francesca

Talking More advice

Merry Christmas

Congratulations on your new acquisition!

Take it to a reliable rv place and get the wheel bearings repacked or do it yourself.

Check the date on your tires. Trailer tires typically go bad from age before wearing out, sidewalls dry out, checker, etc.

I see your tires have white stripes. They probably are not trailer type. There are big discussions on this forum about this topic. You have to make your own decision.

Spend your first night in your trailer out on your driveway. That way if you forgot anything, it is close at hand.
