I found mine in 1975. Mine says U,S. Mallin Shelby O. Not sure when it was made but it is the best can opener I have ever used! Every time I use it I wonder who used it before me. It was made when quality counted, not like the disposable things made today. Would not trade it for anything.

P38 is 1.5" long (38mm) and the P51 is 2" long (51mm). P51s were only issued to mess sections to open larger cans.
