Scamp Bike Hitch

For those Scamp owners who do not have a receiver hitch to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier, we are happy to inform you that Orbital Machine Works now produces a bolt-on hitch you can install yourself. Here is a link to our Amazon advertisement page.

Thank you both for the compliments. We hope Scamp owners feel the same way.

If I had only found this before buying a receiver and making a deal with a welder! I'd prefer to be able to remove this to save weight when not carrying a bike.

Nice looking product!

Looks promising. I have a 13' scamp which doesn't leave me a lot of ground clearance. How low does it hang down below the bumper?

Ideally, the hitch will barely clear the bumper from underneath. The bottom of the receiver is roughly two and a half inches (2.5") below the bottom of the bumper at its lowest point. That is allowing for the space the actual welds fill.

Lisa, just a thought but you may want to make sure you also bringing bike bags/covers that completely seal - otherwise you are going to be having gears and wheels that crush away and not work so well for years to come due to the fine sand that will cling to them at Burning man......

I don't think there's any keeping the dust off a bike on the Playa, not if you use it anyway. Most people who go to burning man regularly and bike there keep a beater bike just for that purpose.
