Not FG but unique trailer for sale

Saw this in my local Craigslist. 1953 32' Spartanette made by the Spartan Aircraft Company. It's only 10 minutes from my house so I may sneak a peek.
Anybody heard of these?

I'm in a vintage camper group and there are people who have restored these beautifully. You can check out Tin Can Tourists or google the name for more photos. There is a big following of these trailers!

Never saw or heard of it before but after seeing some restored models that thing will surely sell and has potential. At first glance I laughed but can now imagine what it looked like polished from the factory.

Here is a restored one, and wow! Get a load of the propane tank holders and furnace among other things, like rounded cabinets, cool airplane like door handles and pocket doors.

As a kid I grew up living in one of those Spartans. When the family grew and my dad built a house he placed the trailer at the end of the new house and bricked it in for use as a cabana next to the pool. It lived there for over 50 years. When the house was sold my sister wanted the trailer. A guy was called to make the move. Some bricks were removed and he crawled underneath to assess the situation. His opinion was that all that was needed to move it was some new tires. The rest of the bricks were removed, new tires mounted and he hooked up and towed it to my sisters lake house about 40 or so miles away with no problems. It's now a guest house and I'd guess it'll be serviceable for another 50 years. It's true...they just don't build trailers like that any longer.

The one in the video is impressive. Everything as original as possible.

Spartans were built in Tulsa and were considered high quality in their day. The history of the company is interesting reading IMO.

Reminds me of a small mobile home

Hallway, partitioned bedroom, relatively full size refrigerator and stove. I wonder whether many served more as homes. Would require a tow vehicle that may not have been that common, to do road trips.

Not FV but unique trailer for sale

Hi Thanks for posting the video. These must have cost dearly when new, there seems to be many custom hardware items that were made just to build these trailers. The tank hold down sure echos the aircraft styling that was in vogue at the time. I watched the video 3 times and found a new feature each time. Nice to see what was available back then . Duane
