Not yet...trying to figure out how to get it there. My uncle can look and can pick it up, but has nowhere to store it (HOA)...I have another uncle that lives in the same city, but he is in an HOA too I guess. One of them might drive out here in the spring, but I need somewhere for it until then....and I can't get away for long enough to go and get it. The one shipping quote I got was $2200...

Cricket, I have 40 acres here on the Olympic Peninsula and I'd be more than happy to store the Scamp here 'til spring. I can't offer covered space, but it's at least secure!

And free, naturally.

Heck, I wouldn't mind even going to get it, assuming it's road worthy of course. Might make for a fun outing!

I'm just across Puget Sound from Seattle...and I've been promising my Granddaughter a trip to The American Girl Doll Store over there.

I could fulfill that "obligation" and do Cricket a favor at the same time.

I hasten to add that I expect the trip to the doll store to cost me at least five times the value of bringing the Scamp back, so no "extra" expense would be noticed, incurred- or charged to Cricket

Call SCAMP and ask them who they use for towed deliveries and you might be able to hook up with them for a return trip. I think they also have a carrier company they use as well. Be sure to tell them that it's a Scamp you are moving.
BTW: Don't bother with an email, they seldom reply, just call them up.

Wow Francesca! You are very generous! Cricket, we are pulling for you. Your determined quest for an egg is clearly inspiring.

I have a trailer that is half way across the country. I understand that it would cost in the $2000 area to ship it. We are going out there next summer to pick it up. We will have to leave our usual trailer at home.

You are an amazing group of people! I had to pass though....my uncle is coming here in the spring, but is riding the harley, so that won't work...and I don't know this far in advance if my husband and I can get our vacation time to match up to be able to get enough time away to come and get it. It is very generous of some some you to offer to bring it, but I would hate to impose on people I really don't even know. Although it looks like a great trailer, I will continue my search closer to home....

I just shipped one from Michigan to Texas using uShip.com. Worked great. You can look at what similar jobs cost, looked like they average around $1 a mile. I paid $975, most of the bids were around $1150.

I have watched it....they seem to have an awful lot of mishaps and other issues...not sure I want them touching my stuff....lol!

I bought a teardrop a couple years ago and found USHIP.COM to be very reasonable and have a good rating system. You register for free, then put in what you need moved from point A to B, size, etc. Then you get bids back. uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves

However, the owners ended up driving it to me for 350.00.

Very, very generous of Francesca! But, I agree with your decision Cricket. You LIVE in Scamp country... Minnesota. I know your egg is out there just waiting for you to find it. IMHO, I'd rather put the money into the asset (trailer), rather than the expense (shipping, etc.)

The mishaps all seem to be with odd stuff, and that's what makes the show entertaining, otherwise it would be boring by today's television watching standards. I had a pickup shipped from Arizona to upstate NY about 7 years ago, set it up through a broker, it was on a car carrier truck, cost $1000. Only problem I had with the whole deal was the drivers were Mexicans, didn't speak good English, and didn't follow directions to my location. I spent all one morning trying to find them when they went to the wrong place and didn't know where they were. No GPS I guess. When I worked for Ryder, our new trucks were delivered by casual drivers for a large transport company. One of them told me a story about one driver who was delivering a new motorhome and used it for his own vacation travels on the way to it's destination. Another driver was sent to the right name city, but in the wrong state halfway across the country. I had thought about doing the truck delivery thing when I retired, but ended up with a part time job 2 miles from home that has worked out OK.
