Since ours was 20 years old, we just paid GST at the border and towed it home. Had more problems at Motor Vehicle due to the joint ownership with an "and" in the title and only 1 signature, had to mail it back for the second signature. Never bothered me for an RIV at the border or MV. I think it ended up taking a few months to clear things up with the joint ownership but then again, it took over a year to rebuild it to the a usable condition. I also know better to watch for titles that have 2 signatures that you need both.
