Angry Expired license tabs

Just a reminder to all of you pulling your camper out of winter storage, especially if not storing it at home.
Here in Minnesota we get new license plate tabs in Febuary. Needless to say if the camper is being stored elsewhere the tabs don't get put on in February.
Well, today I pulled my camper out of storage and got about 2 miles down the road, and you guessed it, the friendly cop pulls me over because my last years tabs are still on the license plate.
My new tabs were home waiting to be attached but I did not even think about them when I picked up the camper this morning.
Now I am the not so proud owner of a ticket for expired tabs. Grrrrrrrrrrr!
People in Mn get their tabs when it is cold and trailers are stored for the winter. If you are in a state like ours, remember to put those tabs on the camper before hauling it anywhere. I forgot, and I earned myself a ticket.
Not so lucky me.

Picked mine up a couple weeks ago. Got all the way home and realized I didn't put the new tabs on yet. Lucky I didn't get ticketed.

Here that would be a "fix it" ticket where you just put them on and then drive to the DMV to prove you have them and they waive the fine. Or it would have been before California decided they needed your money...

I have California PTI (Permanent Trailer Identification) plates. No tabs required. But then again, we don't have "Winter" here either.

In Fl you can get the ticket dropped once your prove you had had current tags waiting to be put on. Actually, the police can look it up in their car now and see online your are current and then send you on your way. Usually with a reminder not to forgot to put them on. Saves a trip to the courthouse.

We also get plates once and just have to keep it road worthy in Ontario
But we do have winter; week since last snow and we still have snow in the bush

Obviously it is a terrible crime to purchase tabs, then not put them on.

How about if you bought food at the grocery store, but didn't eat it. You could die!

Heh! Heh! Heh!

The states, counties and cities are broke and if they can get money from you they will.

AZ tabs are good for a year from when you buy them. Florida was a pain, they expired on your birthday. We had 2 cars, a camper and a boat on a trailer.

AZ excludes TTs from permanent tabs.

They are the stickers that (in California) go on the upper corners of the rear license plate to indicate that the registration is current and the fees have been paid. The left one is usually the Month, and the right one is usually the Year. They are color coded so that a law enforcement officer can tell at a glance if you're up-to-date.

They're referred to as "tabs" because years ago they were metal and had small tabs that had to be bent to keep them from falling off the license plates. OMG, I've just aged myself
