I have never posted here, but have certainly hung out here for info!
Very intertaining and appreciated.... THANKS!
Having said that, I now really need some help (advice)
To give a bit of a back ground, I have owned several "molded fiberglass rv's
13' boler, 15' Trillium, 17'Boler. 19' Bigfoot. So I am no stranger, but no expert??
Now here's my problem, I'm looking at another Bigfoot.... 5'er...
Its a long distance purchase so I have only seen digital images....
Its a 26.5 ft Bigfoot a 1994 and it weighs 4000 lbs dry...
I have never heard of .. let alone see one like this...
Its bigger than I wanted ... but I'm still dealing ...
Its not a molded fiberglass unit ... seems the roof is but the
sides look like a stick camper???
Looks like they took the molded top and stretched it from the front to the
back.. back, top and front of unit down to hitch look molded?
sides look like any stick camper.
Has anyone heard of such a unit?
any insight wld be greatley appreciated

thanks
tim
ps: if this doesn't post well, its my first ever so please be patient!
have no idea what I'm doing

Tim,

The Bigfoot is out of my realm, but I wanted to say to FGRV. You've had a great cross-section of eggs!

Your post came through just fine

I don't know much about them but Bigfoot did make a bigger "stick built" fifth wheel. I have seen pictures of one. Bigfoot also made bumper pull trailers, motorhomes, and truck campers of the same construction. Not all BFs are of molded construction.

The last molded Bigfoot 5th wheel came out early 1994... then there was a fire and the molds were lost and haven't been remade to date... who knows what may happen when the company is totally resurrected?! Often times molded Bigfoot 5th wheels are considered 20 footers.. no bigger.

What you're looking at Tim ... is a "sticky." The only thing that makes it "rare" is Bigfoot isn't up and running (yet).

If you're asking if it has added value because these may be "rare." IMHO I'd say no. It isn't considered a classic... like a Shasta, nor collectable like an early Airstream.

You may get more information at the Bigfoot Owners Group

It's a "stickie" (conventional wood frame, metal side construction). There are probably a bazillion conventional fifth wheels out there in storage lots from the early-to-mid '90s. There probably aren't a lot of Bigfoot 5th wheels out there, because they had low production numbers, and there's probably a few more Bigfoot 5th wheels in the Pacific Northwet in the U.S. and Canada because the factory was there, but it's likely not worth any more than any other brand of 1994 "stickie" fifth wheel out there. Fifth wheels in general don't have the best resale, and they can be hard to sell used because it's a fairly narrow market.

Good luck with your negotiations!

Roger

It could very well clean up nicely and you will have yourself a very nice rv that will give you years of service. If its dry (no leaks) I imagine the interior will be in very good condition. My estimate is this will be up around 10,000 lbs wet, do you have a tow vehicle capable?

Tim, it looks like its been idle for some time. What is the history on it?

Thanks Donna, good info, was really looking to replace the Bigfoot with another Bigfoot. Only in a 5th wheel, thought it wld be better for pulling trailer + boat?

Also re: "Bigfoot Owners Group" ... forum. Not as good as FRV, IMHO. Don't want to bash, but this forum and all you folks have been great.. Again my opinion.
