Anyone Put Solar Panel on Tow Vehicle?

On a small trailer, there is enough room for 1 panel. Maybe 2 if you install them crosswise.

So has anyone considered mounting one on your tow?

Obviously it only does you any good when it is hooked up to the trailer battery, but I'm guessing that is about 1/2 daylight time for many of us.

I had not consdiered a permanent installtion, but have thought about setting a portable rig on top of my camper shell on the tug. Would get it up off the ground and possibly oriented better on a tight campsite, the kind I prefer anyway. It helps that my shell is old and junky and I don't care if I scratch/dent it a little with a couple of "suitcase" panels.

I have thought about this and look forward to the ideas. I thought about maybe mounting some rails on the canopy top for starters, then experimenting with tilting later. Parking where there is sunshine may be a problem as I'm often in the trees. Easily taking them off and moving them to the sun would be helpful.
