Nope because the panel would be connected directly to the battery
. You should have a solar charge controller
on the panel though but if you are going for a small 5 watt panel just to keep the battery
maintained when parked then you would only need a small cheap controller (under $25) to go with it.
But to be honest if you are going to use a solar
battery to keep your battery pumped out while parked at home you may as well get at least a 35 watt or a bit more so its of some use to you when you go out camping without power.
