Changing light fixture

We want to change out the outside light fixture on a 2007 trillium outback to a LED one. Any suggestions on how to? The LED is a different shape than the old one. Do we have to drill holes and then seal the old ones? Any insight would help.

Did you consider just changing the bulb to an LED?

The old fixture is cracked and water gets in. The new fixture is not just a bulb but made up of tiny little bulbs.

Sounds like yes, new holes and seal the old. If the old holes will still be covered then it’s simpler, just need to waterproof, not repair the glass. I’d put proflex in the holes then butyl tape on top of that. Screw new fixture down on top and add a bead of proflex along top and sides of fixture only.

What is proflex, does it come in a tube?

Proflex RV sealant is in a standard caulk gun tube, is available in clear or white, and sold at most RV dealers, Amazon, and eBay.

My 2010 Trillium came with 4 Led tail light fixtures. I have had 3 of the 4 fail. Unfortunately they are potted and cannot be repaired . Bargman has come out with an improved model. So far the new ones have held up. Bargmam 47-84-020 is the new model. They sell for $25 each.
