Exterior light won't turn off

I travel with the vehicle lights on so the burro exterior lights are also on. When I got home from this trip, I detached from the car - but the side lights and brake lights are all still on. I guess they must be somehow attached to the battery, but this has never happened before and I've changed nothing. Any ideas out there?

Sounds like a short in your umbilical. Best disconnect the battery to avoid discharging too much. Raz

If you are set up to charge the trailer battery from the tow vehicle, then I would guess that there was a problem in the plug on the trailer, such as a loose wire making contact with another.

Thanks Raz. I'm on my way to do it. I didn't even realize those lights to draw from the battery!

That's the issue. They shouldn't. Lights are powered by the tow vehicle so if they stay on after you unplug there must be an unwanted connection between the two systems. Raz

If you have electric brakes, a bad connection in that cord can cause a bunch of problems, so it worth finding out where it is shorting.

No electric brakes but I just realized the refrigerator probably isn't working today either even though the burro is plugged into shore power. It has that battery connect that switches it between shore and propane. Guess I'd probably clean out the fridge today instead of tomorrow!

Most definitely a short from the hot to the trailer lights, an most likely in the cord as Raz alluded to. Could possibly be a loose wire in the plug like Bob said too. These are is pretty much the only place they are right close together, and a place most likely prone to damage as it is not tucked out of the way, and open to being bruised. I had this happen to me before, and it happened to someone else here last year.
