And weighs almost 1/3 more and burns somewhere around 85% more fuel to run for the same length of time.

My Harbor Freight 2800 Predator inverter generator with the modifications to the airfilter is as quiet as the 2000i and puts out the same power as this Honda unit.
It cost $400 as I remember

The rap from the inrake valve opening and closing under power created more noise than the exhaust.
The air filter mod consists of adding some tubes and creating a longer path for the noise to the exterior.
Some where on this site I have posted pictures and a write up.
My phone dB meter app cant tell the difference at the sale load levels although the tone is different.
I added 4 tubes of about 3/4" ID on top of the foam filter and put in a seal at the bottom with the four tubes coming out. The idea is that the tubed cut down the popping from the intake since the foam filter doe little to quiet the noise.

The intake silencer consists of a group of 4 tubes of 3/4" ID that gives the intake noise a path that is longer than straight through the foam filter and out the bottom of the filter box.
A baffle for the tubes to come through is fabricated out of some closed cell heavy foam block.
Somewhere in this site is a write up I did, but I can't find my original pictures.

I found it and edited it in just so that you would think you missed it!
Really this could work for many applications.
Often the major noise from small engines comes from the intake.
The exhaust can have added mufflers too.

Bottom line is this is neither a new product or quiet and is for "industrial job site" meaning it's loud.
But for job sites it's a nice generator.
If one were to look at the air intake of the Honda eu20001 you can see the tubes.
I recently installed a intake cleaner/silencer on my 5 HP 2 stage air compressor and it cut the noise level in half.
